Notebook Internal Drive: Notebook Computer CD DVD Drives

Notebook internal drive options allow you to set up a multimedia system that meets your personal or business mobile computing requirements. There are five basic notebook computer CD DVD drives to choose from when deciding whether you want an internal CD drive, an internal DVD drive, or both. You may choose more than one option when customizing a new notebook computer or buying a refurbished notebook. Having a dual notebook internal drive setup will allow you to complete two tasks at the same time. The decision is up to you and it's worth thinking about how you are going to use a notebook before you buy one. The lowest-priced new notebooks on the market come with at least an internal notebook DVD drive combo that lets you burn CDs and watch DVDs. Some low-priced notebooks do come with a DVD burner that lets you burn both CDs and DVDs. Here are the 5 options to choose from when selecting notebook CD DVD drives:

1) CD-ROM internal drive: Listen to CDs and load software from CDs.
2) DVD-ROM internal notebook DVD drive: Listen to CDs, view DVDs, and load software from CDs and DVDs.

3) CD-RW notebook internal drive: Listen to CDs, burn CDs, and load software from CDs.

4) CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo notebook DVD drive: Play and burn CDs, watch DVDs, and load software from CDs and DVDs.

5) DVD-RW(DVD Burner) notebook internal drive: Listen to CDs, view DVDs, burn CDs and DVDs, and load software from CDs and DVDs.

As I mentioned above almost all new notebooks on the market today come with internal notebook DVD drive option 4(CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo drive) or option 5(DVD Burner). Some new notebooks also offer a Blu-Ray Disc notebook internal drive that allows you to watch and/or burn Blu-Ray Discs as well as burn CDs and DVDs. Where the other three types of notebook computer CD DVD drives come into play is when you want a second(dual) notebook drive so that you can perhaps write to one notebook drive while reading data from the other. Or maybe you want to watch a DVD while burning CDs. It's totally up to you and how you are going to use your notebook computer. The bottom line is that it's worth verifying what kind of notebook internal drive is offered on the specific notebook model you are considering buying. If the notebook computer CD DVD specifications don't meet your personal or business computing needs then look to see if customization is available and whether you can upgrade to the next level of notebook internal drive systems.
